Jesus told His disciples that when they fed the hungry, gave drink to the thirsty, visited the sick, or gave clothing to the needy, they were doing things for Jesus Himself. (Matthew 25:31-46)
When SPPS students help another person, they are serving Christ who dwells within that person. SPPS focuses on the acts of service. These service activites can be done at home, at school, in the parish, or in the community.
Some clubs and organizations require a minimum number of service hours that students are required to complete in order to stay a member in good standing. Even though they don’t receive service hours, classes are also encouraged to remember those in need by practicing the Corporal Works of Mercy.
